You may access the Lysefjord by boat, bus, car or bike at three different points. There is a road along both sides of the fjord close to its' mouth, between Forsand and Oanes. Access is by ferry from Lauvvik or via Tau that has ferry connection to Stavanger, and the national tourist route Ryfylke. Car ferries by the fjord mouth dock at Oanes (to Lauvvik) and Forsand (to Lysebotn).

Half way there is a scenic road from Årdal over the highlands to Songesand, which also has ferry connections.

Third, there is a a narrow and winding road  from Sirdal to the end of the fjord in Lysebotn, also with ferry links.

See the timetable for all the buses and ferries going to and from Preikestolen, Kjerag, Flørli, Lysebotn and also Trolltunga here and find the best way for you to get to your start point.
